Family caring for family
It all started this way, as family caring for family. Carroll and Donna Moore opened the first CarDon community in Greenwood, Ind., in 1977, with the vision to create a better alternative for area seniors. While nothing fancy or grandiose, it was a place for people to live comfortably and be assured of dignified, respectful, and family-centered care.
They wanted to make a difference. And they did.
The first jobs of all six Moore children were at the Greenwood senior living community where they gained much more than work experience. They absorbed a unique appreciation for the remarkable lives and accomplishments of the residents they considered members of their extended family.
As it turned out, these first jobs inspired long-term career choices for all of the Moore children. Today, five are licensed nursing home administrators and one is a physician. The entire family has continued their parents’ legacy, with four of the six serving as hands-on owners and operators and serving on the board of directors of CarDon & Associates.
CarDon currently owns and/or operates 20 communities throughout central and southern Indiana.
CarDon’s mission to be the leading provider of inspired living and compassionate care shines through in a strong hospitality focus, commitment to innovative technologies and equipment, and community amenities that foster a sense of family among the people who live and work at CarDon communities.
Proud to honor the quality standards established by Carroll and Donna Moore and the legacy of their commitment to area seniors, CarDon & Associates has more than 35 years of expertise in community development and management, plus an unparalleled family-centered approach to creating inspiring living environments and delivering compassionate care.
